This will be Tomy Drissi's seventh season in Trans-Am racing. Racing will start this weekend, April 9, 2005 at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. Driving the number 5 Sahara the Movie jaguar XKR, Drissi hopes to maintain his winning streak from last year where he captured a first career pole, four top five finishes and finished fourth in the overall championship points.

Making his 69th career start, Drissi looks forward to returning to his "home track" and the scene of his first victory. "A street fight!," described Drissi. " The Long Beach course is very challenging. You must have a car that can put the power down and one you can trust as you fly into the corners."

In 1999, Drissi was honored with "Rookie of the Year" and in 2000 named "Most Improved Driver". To date, Drissi has a win, a pole, seven podium finishes, 11 top-fives, 31 top-tens and a lap completion rate of over 89%.

The Cytomax Challenge is schedule for April 10th and 3:15pm Pacific Time. A one hour recap of the race from the streets of Long Beach can be seen on SPEED TV, Sunday April 17th at 1:30pm Eastern Time.
