June 26, 2005 - Sundays Nextel Cup Dodge/Save Mart 350 ended with Tony Stewart taking the win after having to drive most of the race with one hand as he lost fourth gear and was soon to loose third.
This race at Infineon Raceway is one of the favorites because this isn't the typical NASCAR race on an oval track. This is on a full road course that often brings out some ringers to drive in place of some regulars. For instance Boris Said who is very experienced on road courses was one of the top contenders in todays race and ended up placing 17th.
Jeff Gordon also had some transmission issues and the pole sitter and one of the favorites to win this race ended up near the bottom of the list in 33rd place.
This race was Stewart's first win of the season and his first since taking the checkered at Watkins Glen in August of 2004.
