CONCORD, N.C. (May 5, 2005) - The chance for a record $6,279,649 in posted prize money for the Coca-Cola 600 at Lowe's Motor Speedway includes $35,000 in new bonuses which reward competition during the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race. The race is scheduled for May 29, 2005.

There will be special prize money for the driver who leads at the half way point as well as drivers who lead at six other designated points during the race. How about for the driver who leads the most laps while under the green flag? This type of prize money offerings really gives the drivers incentives to win.
