June 12, 2005 - Carl Edwards takes his 2nd Nextel Cup victory taking the top spot at the Pocono 500 on Sunday, June 12, 2005. His first win was at Atlanta earlier this year. At Atlanta, Edwards did a backflip off of his car in the winners circle and he did the same thing on Sunday! Needless to say it's a great crowd pleaser and he's definately a showman.
Edwards took his Ford powered car for the win leading 45 of the 201 laps. Not as many as some but all that matters is being at the front of the pack on that last lap. Top lap leader was Vickers who led 121 laps but Edwards overtook Vickers on lap 187 and stayed there until the checkered.
Edwards started the race in the 29th position.
